生平

                   

余之教學生涯，自民國三十七年在國立中央大學兼任開始，是年年底隨軍隊調來台灣而中止，來台後因中央氣象局之借調而離開軍職。

民國四十二年夏天起，兼任台灣師範大學前身之師範學院兩年，民國四十四年夏天創辦台灣大學地理學系並擔任系主任，專任教職七年，其間系務、課務雖然繁忙，但在民國四十九年夏迄五十一年夏，於教育部廣播教學節目中擔任中國地理之大學課程。

五十一年夏由台灣大學休假出國，並轉任新加坡南洋大學教職至五十九年春天，返國後專任中國文化學院地學系教職，民國六十一年轉任台灣師範大學地理學系專任，多年的教學生涯，曾出席各項技術性、學術性國際會議，深覺教學生活，最適合余之個性，凡教不厭、學不倦，實心嚮往之。    

 (薛繼壎教授安徽無為縣人，民國四年四月三十日出生，民國八十一年過世，享年七十七歲。老師與師母譚繼純女士結褵於台灣，育有二子一女，長子薛康先生、次子薛強先生、小女兒薛安小姐。師母近年長居美國，薛康先生仍居台北寓所。
